Examining the Nonlinear Impacts of Origin-Destination Built Environment on Metro Ridership at Station-to-Station Level

نویسندگان

چکیده

Although many studies have explored the relationship between built environment and metro ridership, literature offers limited evidence on nonlinear effect of origin destination environments station-to-station ridership. Using data from Chongqing, this study uses gradient boosting decision trees (GBDT) model to explore impact The research results show that at has a greater ridership than destination. All independent variables examined complex effects threshold distance city center, number companies, building volume rate positive both provide suggestions for optimizing around stations.

Examining the influence of stop level infrastructure and built environment on bus ridership in Montreal

We studied transit ridership from the perspective of the transit provider, with the objective of quantifying the influence of transit system operational attributes, transportation system infrastructure attributes and built environment attributes on the disaggregate stop level boardings and alightings by time of day for the bus transit system in the Montreal region. A Composite Marginal Likeliho...

Simulation of Metro Train Fire in an Underground Station of Tehran Metro Line 7

In this research a fire scenario was simulated in one of the stations of the line 7 of Tehran's subway system. The Line 7 is under construction and the ventilation system is under design. Fire was set for a stopping metro train at the platform of the station. A 160 meter length eight-car metro train with the forth wagon on the fire was studied. The heat release rate is based on a quadratic f...

Metro Station Operating Costs: An Econometric Analysis

This article develops an econometric analysis of metro station operating cost to identify factors that create variation in cost efficiency. Stations operating costs can be classified amongst the semifixed costs that a metro faces in the sense that they do not vary proportionately with metro output. They may therefore be important in determining the degree of returns to density. This article see...

Sustainable Mobility: Longitudinal Analysis of Built Environment on Transit Ridership

Given the concerns about urban mobility, traffic congestion, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, extensive research has explored the relationship between the built environment and transit ridership. However, the nature of aggregation and the cross-sectional approach of the research rarely provide essential clues on the potential of a transit system as a sustainable mobility option. From the per...

Growth of 48 built environment bacterial isolates on board the International Space Station (ISS).

Background. While significant attention has been paid to the potential risk of pathogenic microbes aboard crewed spacecraft, the non-pathogenic microbes in these habitats have received less consideration. Preliminary work has demonstrated that the interior of the International Space Station (ISS) has a microbial community resembling those of built environments on Earth. Here we report the resul...
